The school held a general induction took place for the new officers of the Parents-Teachers Association, the members of the Board of Directors, and the Homeroom PTA officers for Academic Year 2018-2019 on September 20, 2018, at the PISQ Quadrangle.

The Masters of Ceremonies for the night were Ms Lei T. Asis and Mr Arnold E. Javier. Before the general induction began, selected students from the Intermediate Department led the doxology and the singing of the national anthems of Qatar and the Philippines.

After the doxology and singing of the National Anthems, the school principal and adviser of the PTA, Mr Jason A. Iyas, delivered his speech. The principal told the audience a story when he was still a student. He said, “I do not remember a PTA gathering as warm and as vibrant as this during my time when I was with my mother.”

Mr Iyas discussed the importance of learning in the modern era and the influences that a student could be exposed to. It is not just in the classroom and at home that students learn, but also on the Internet and from people around them. He also talked about the value of having a Parents-Teachers Association. “For me, it is not just [having] a Parents-Teachers Association; but rather, it is a partnership with the school to improve the lives of all learners, and I hope our new officers that will be inducted later will put this in their hearts and minds that the PTA is established to partner with the school so that we can do something better with the lives of all our learners—not just your children, but all learners of this school.”

Ms Neuwee M. Martinez, the school’s guidance counselor, then introduced the guest speaker for the night: the labor attaché from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Mr David Des T. Dicang. In his speech, Mr Dicang emphasised the term “accountability”, which means being responsible. He also presented five points to remember.

"Time is short so use it well.” was his first point for accountability. He explained that because our time is limited we cannot always do the things that we desire. That is why we must use our time to do significant things. We have a lot of work to do but we should not forget that good relationships between students and teachers are essential in order for both ends to grow.

The second point was “we must take care of our health because our body is created by God in order for us to live a long life and do all the things we want to reach.”

“We must share our wealth and let us not be held by our own possessions”, Mr Dicang stated for his third point. According to him, our wealth must not be the used as reasons to do wrong things. Instead, we must use this for the better.

The fourth point is that “God gave us strength for us that is why we must use this in our talents and everyday life.”

“Our action, our testimony will speak of our integrity” was Mr Dicang’s last point for accountability. He explained that when the time has come, every action we take will have a good result.

Afterwards, the oath-taking ceremony for the new officials of the PTA was led by Ms Trinidad D. Cabaliza, Level Head of the Junior High School Department, and Mr Jason A. Iyas.

The newly elected officials of the Parents-Teachers Association for Academic Year 2018-2019 are: Mr Wilson A. De Leon as the president, Mr John Mark B. Bunagan as the vice president, Mrs Aileen Bate-Torres as the secretary, Mr Cirilo C. Caday Jr. as the treasurer, Mr Felixberto A. Lloren Jr. as the auditor, Mr Marciano D. Cacayorin as the PIO (public information officer) and Mr Raymond Yasser N. Chio as the business manager.

Moreover, the parents who make up the Board of Directors are Mr Roy Anthone N. Layson IV, Mr Eduardo A. Chavarria, and Mrs Diwata P.B. Hugo. The teachers who are also part of the Board of Members are Ms Sarah Joy S. Tomias, Ms Mary Jean R. Gorobat, Ms Fritz Ann F. Rodriguez, Ms Lyka A. Lauresta and Ms Charmaine D. Mañibo.

The introduction of the Special Committees was led by Mrs Maria Cristina C. Camagon, Level Head of the Intermediate Department. The different committees are the Committee on Sports, Committee on Relation and Documentation, Committee on Ethics and Grievances, Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Health, Committee on Security and Safety, Committee on Education, Committee on Information Technology and Media, and Committee on Program and Events.

The induction and oath taking of the newly elected homeroom officials were led by Mrs Phides Fay B. Cuntapay, Level Head of the Pre-School Department. After the induction and oath taking of the newly elected officials for the year 2018-2019 there was a special dance performance from the students of the Junior High School Department. Certificates were given to the PTA officers of the previous Academic Year by Mr Jojo L. Calague, Level Head of the Senior High School Department. Afterwards, last year's PTA Vice-President Mr Martson T. Edeza gave a special message.

According to Mr Edeza, the Parents-Teacher Association is a way of giving service to the students without expecting anything in return. PTA is important for the students because it gives a good effect on each student. He also mentioned that the children of the PTA officers have achievements such as awards, honors varsity status, and more. "Tingin ko po ay hindi po iyon coincidence at hindi rin po yan dahil sa binibigay na special favors ng mga teachers yung mga anak ng PTA officers. Hindi po iyon, iyon po ay dahil sa nakita nila na yung mga magulang nila ay may pakialam. Hindi lang sa bahay kung hindi ang magulang nila ay may pakialam sa paaralan na pinapasukan nila at yung epekto na yun ay ang naibigay sa akin ng PTA.”

To keep the program going, the teachers of Junior High School Department presented a song number of their own. After the performance, the former officials of PTA handed over their duties to the newly elected officials for this school year. This was led by Mrs. Wilma P. De Los Santos, Level Head of the Primary Department, alongside Mr. Jason A. Iyas.

The newly elected President, Mr Wilson A. De Leon, then delivered an acceptance and thanksgiving speech. According to him, unity is the goal of every community, group, organization and nation because if there is unity, there is peace; and if there is peace, there is harmony. Mr De was elected the President of the PTA for the second year in a row. He presented some of the plans of the PTA for the school such as basketball and volleyball games for parents and students alike.

The night became memorable as the teachers from the Intermediate Department presented their intermission number. Before the program ended, the current Vice-President, Mr John Mark B. Bunagan, gave his closing remarks. In his speech, he stated how glad and thankful he was for the people who attend the event. He then added, “the actions that we want to do must be done for the better future.”
